VS-2104L VioStor 4-Channel, 2-Bay NVR from Qnap is equipped to support up to four IP cameras, and to provide you with up to 8TB of storage on two 3.5" internal SATA drives. The VioStor does not ship with drives, so you can tailor your capacity to your needs. Setting up the NVR is simple using an IP switch. Connect up to four IP cameras to the switch, plug the switch into your router and the NVR, and you're ready to start recording. This is a full pentaplex operational system that allows you to simultaneously live-view, playback, backup, remotely access, and perform administrative tasks without having to stop recording.

It comes with an four surveillance software license to be installed after you've installed your drives, this supports up to eight cameras. An optional four camera license enables you to upgrade your unit to support up to eight cameras. The software features multiple recording modes including continuous, scheduled, motion-detection, and alarm modes. Recording modes can be set per-channel to further tailor the system to your needs. The VioStor also supports Smart recording to help optimize your memory. This system records at a medium or low resolution, quality, and frame and bit rates, until an alarm or event happens, then it will automatically switch to high-resolution and quality to capture detailed footage when it's most critical. Edge recording takes advantage of IP cameras with local memory storage. If the connection is lost to the camera, the NVR will scan the camera's local memory when the connection is restored, and download the missing footage.

Multiple users with individual passwords can be granted access ranging from live-view only up to full administrative permission. Use preset profiles, or grant/restrict access to specific functions for each user. To aid in file searches of recorded video, the VioStor can use the Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) system to automatically detect when something has changed in the camera's field of view. It can find motion-detection, when new objects appear, when objects are removed, or when the camera goes out of focus or is blocked. This enables quicker searches for specific types of events, instead of scanning through hours of files. You can also upload an E-Map, and map out where cameras are located and what type of cameras they are. When configured, simply click on the camera icon and the camera menu will pop-up to change and update settings including recording mode, and image quality.

Edge recording: Available if the camera has a local memory option, like a memory card. If the connection to the NVR is lost, when the connection is restored, the NVR will search the memory card and capture the missing footage

Remote Access
